Ideas for Place Cards at a Sports Bar Mitzvah

Ideas for Place Cards at a Sports Bar Mitzvah

For a 12-year-old Jewish boy, there's plenty to look forward to when moving into adulthood. His bar mitzvah ceremonies and after-party rank pretty high on the list. There's a lot of planning that goes into the after-party where guests give congratulations, gifts and cash to celebrate this monumental moment. If the theme chosen for the party is a sports one, there are several ways to customize the event, such as using themed place cards for each guest's seat. Use sports-related cards to keep everyone in order and quickly seated.

By Sport

Order mini sports favors or stress balls in the shapes of different sports balls. Categorize each of the tables by sports, such as basketball, baseball and football. Get corresponding balls in a uniform size to represent each table. Affix each guest's name to a ball using a label or mini name card. All of the football guests will be seated at the table with a larger sized football as the centerpiece.

Team Jerseys

Order mini die-cut jerseys from your local party center or stationery supplier. Give each table a number, and assign the seating based on the jersey number on the tables. Those assigned jersey number 00 would have that number on their place card and know where to sit.

Photo Holders

Online suppliers Oriental Trading and Cool Party Favors stock sports-themed photo holders, which are perfect to use for your place cards. The clips have a sports ball as the base with a claw grip clip attached for holding papers. They are made to hold photos or notes and are ideal for your sports-themed party. Print the guests' names on mini cards with their table numbers on them. Stand all of the photo holders upright in the order of the guests' last names.

By Team

Choose the sports team the guest of honor favors the most. Stick to one sport, and use the name of the various teams within the league to theme your tables and place cards. If he loves football, have a Pittsburgh Steelers table, a New York Jets table and so on. Label each place card with an assigned team and the guest's name.
