Creating a monogrammed napkin for a semi-formal wedding can add the perfect touch to your reception. If you're a DIY bride or you have crafty friends, family members and bridesmaids, get your craft supplies together, set out some refreshments and set to work on creating your own beautiful or fun napkins for your wedding. These monogrammed napkins make nice keepsakes for your wedding guests to use and then take home with them. You can also collect and launder the napkins after your wedding and you'll have a set of monogrammed linen napkins for future dinner parties and events in your new home as a married couple.
Instructions
- 1
Lay out the napkin. Place one linen napkin at a home on a flat work surface. Decide where you want to place the monogram --- lower right corner is probably the most common.
2Prepare paint. Add some of the cloth paint to the dish and dip your paintbrush into it.
3Paint the stamp. Apply the paint to the rubber stamp with your new last name initial. Be sure that the paint is thick enough to add to the napkin.
4Apply to the napkin. Push the painted stamp onto the area where you want to apply it to the napkin. Push firmly and evenly so that the paint transfers onto the napkin evenly.
5Allow paint to dry. Leave the napkin in place to dry overnight.
6Make other napkins. Repeat steps 1 through 5 until you have enough napkins for each of your wedding guests.
7Add a napkin ring. For added decoration, roll your linen napkin so that the monogram shows and slide a decorative napkin ring over the napkin. This helps hold the napkin in place and embellishes the napkin enough to help decorate your wedding guest tables.
