How to Make a Wedding Card Holder

How to Make a Wedding Card Holder

Weddings can be expensive, so it's a good idea to make your own wedding accessories whenever you can. It's easy to make a wedding card holder to use at your reception as a way to receive cards and money from your guests. You can make it as elegant or as fun as you wish.

Instructions

    1

Gather your materials. If you are looking for a small, inexpensive birdcage, check your local arts and crafts stores. You can also find them online using the resources section of this article.

    2

Place your birdcage on top of some old newspaper or in another safe place for spray painting. Spray paint your birdcage with white spray paint. You may need to use two or more coats. Let the birdcage dry.

    3

Use your white ribbon to make the birdcage more suitable for your wedding. Weave the ribbon through the wires of the cage until you encircle the entire cage. Tie the ends of the ribbon into a bow and cut off the ends.

    4

Write the names of the bride and groom on the outsides of the envelopes. You will want to place these next to the cage at the wedding reception so that people can use them to include notes or money for the happy couple.

    5

Sit your wedding card holder and envelopes on a decorated table near the sign-in book for your reception. Some guests may not know what this is for, so you might want to put a couple of envelopes into the birdcage before your reception starts.
