You are getting married and you would like your wedding to stand out from other weddings you have attended. You can easily spend thousands of dollars on achieving your goal of making your wedding unique. Alternatively, you can consider a gallery of ideas to infuse your personality and energy into the design of your guest tables without going broke.
Unusual Centerpieces
Use nontraditional items instead of flowers for your guest table centerpieces. Add brightly colored candy to vases and apothecary containers. Use a simple potted plant, a basket of fresh fruit, a bird cage, a fish bowl, or a stack of old books. Cut four oranges, place slices in a clear pitcher, fill with water and add a floating candle for a fresh centerpiece.
Elemental
Use fire or water to make a memorable addition to your table scape. Submerge tulips or roses in a large, clear vase. Fill with water and add a floating candle on top of the arrangement. Place several decorative items inside a container full of water. Place tea light candle holders on top of the water. Freeze the container. Light the arrangement to have a fire and ice arrangement.
Dinnerware
Use plates that match your color scheme. As an alternative, use dishware in alternating colors to create a colorful setting. Set a salad, dinner and dessert plate by each guest's seat. Add a colorful napkin with a decorative ring and appropriate flatware. Tuck a few fresh flower stems inside the napkin, or tie the napkin with a few sprigs of ivy. Add the guest's glass to complete the look.
Pictures
Frame several pictures of the bride and groom, separately and together. Place these frames around your reception venue and on guest tables. You can also use the picture in place of a table number. Frames are an inexpensive accessory that add a touch of elegance for a small price tag.
Candles
Place a series of candles on candle holders and under hurricane lamps for your centerpiece. Alternatively, use candles to accent your centerpiece by placing a ring of candles around a larger centerpiece. Place votive candles in a row down the center of your table. Integrate candlesticks with your centerpiece. Add decorative rocks, flowers and a pillar candle in a clear vase for your centerpiece. Place candles in lanterns and hang above the table or use the lantern as a centerpiece.
Chairs
Tie bows on the back of your chairs to decorate them. Add tulle or gossamer for an inexpensive addition. Tie flowers to chair backs for a romantic touch.
Flowers
Use one to three over-sized flowers, such as sunflowers or large calla lilies, in a small vase for your centerpiece. Decorate an OASIS Design Ring with pine and holly greens, ornaments, pine cones and candles to make delightfully fragrant wreaths to lay on your wedding tables. Make a floral wreath to serve as the base of your centerpiece. Add sticks to a piece of floral foam inside your wreath. Attach roses to the sticks and place candles inside the wreath for an artistic centerpiece. Mix fruit slices, flower buds and small-bloomed flowers for your table centerpiece.
Table Numbers
Frame a map, favorite poem, song lyrics, postcard or picture in place of a table number. Use decorative paper, glitter and love quotes to embellish a simple page with a table number on it. Tuck the table numbers into the centerpiece with a floral pick.
