How to Attach a TV Stand to Drywall

Attaching a TV stand to drywall to secure the TV vertically is a way to provide an optimal television-viewing angle for all potential guests in your home or office. These wall TV stands are secured in place by screws. Fortunately, the direct nature of their construction allows you to complete self-installation without any prior experience with TV wall mounts and stands, or with televisions in general. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Ensure TV is disconnected from any devices and lay a towel down on the floor.

    2

Place the TV carefully face down on the towel so that the screen cannot be seen and the rear of the device is directly accessible.

    3

Remove the screws from the base of the stand using a Phillips screwdriver. The number of screws involved varies by television model.

    4

    Pull out the base stand.

    5

Use the four M4-sized screws provided with your wall mount bracket/wall stand to connect the bracket stand to the rear of your TV. There will be four pre-made screw holes in the center of the rear of the TV. Use your screwdriver to insert these screws to mount the stand against the drywall.

    6

Use replacement screws if you have lost the original screws that came with the wall mount bracket. These replacement screws must not be longer than 1/2 inch in length and are inserted in the same screw holes at the back of the TV.

    7

Follow the instructions that came with your wall mount stand on how to attach it to your drywall once it is connected to the TV. The exact method varies by wall mount model, so consult your included manual. You need to use your screwdriver or a power drill to insert a few additional screws through the mount and into the drywall. Screw locations vary but are diagrammed in the included manual.
