How to Make Votive Candle Wrappers

How to Make Votive Candle Wrappers

Votive candles can be used for many different purposes. They create an ambiance when used as table decorations for a romantic Valentine's dinner or a wedding reception. Votive candles are a useful favor to give to guests at a wedding, shower or birthday party. Plain votive candle holders can be easily personalized to fit the occasion by creating a customized votive candle wrapper. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Ribbon

    1

Cut ribbon to match the occasion to fit around the votive holder. The ribbon should match the color of the wedding, shower or birthday theme.

    2

Secure the ribbon to the votive holder using double-sided tape. Ribbon can be placed at the top, bottom or anywhere in the middle.

    3

Tie a bow out of the same ribbon to secure to the votive holder for further decoration. Secure the bow with double-sided tape over the ribbon seam.

Lace

    4

Measure and fit lace around the votive holder. Use lace in any design to fit the occasion, such as hearts for Valentine's Day or bells for a wedding.

    5

Cut the strip of lace to the measurements.

    6

Secure the lace using double-sided tape. Use as thin a strip as possible to prevent dirt from sticking to the adhesive that might be exposed beneath the holes in the lace, while still holding the lace securely.

Vellum

    7

Fit vellum around the votive candle holders, marking where the edges of the candle holder meet the paper. This gives you a template to work with.

    8

Cut the template out, leaving some on each edge for overlapping.

    9

Cut out the colored or printed vellum for each candle holder. Use the template to ensure the right fit.

    10

Secure with double-sided tape or cut holes in either end of the template and secure with ribbon.
